Ohio State Docs Test Patients for Exercise-Induced Asthma

Julian McClurkin says he knew he had the talent and desire to play basketball at the collegiate level, but always felt like something wasn't quite right. Actually what Julian was experiencing was a sign of something much more serious. Julian has what's known as exercise-induced asthma. Julian's symptoms are only obvious when he's exerting himself, but it's a problem many of us may have and not even realize. Dr. Jonathan Parsons, pulmonologist and internal medicine doctor with Ohio State University Medical Center, says, "Ten to 15-percent of the general population has this problem. And, if you've got chronic asthma, up to 80-percent of those patients will have exercise-induced asthma as well."
